"Bag It!"
Trinity is doing a project, with our homeschool group, to attempt to eliminate plastic grocery bags from our community. Everyone in the group is doing a survey and helping to advertise and organize a viewing of the film "Bag It!" on Earth Day, April 22.
Trinity spent 2 hours making posters for the event and she spent an hour at a local grocery store asking the above questions to shoppers. She showed great courage and respect with the strangers she approached. I considered it a fantastic exercise in public speaking.
Kyler is involved in the group as well, in a smaller way. He is Trinity's support person and he is also being educated in the effects plastic has on our environment. He is very sensitive to the effects on marine life and encourages me to bring my reusable bags at all times. There is four 3 hour meeting that we will be attending to discuss the contributions each member of the group will be making to this project, including talking to our local government.
