Trinity's poem

Raccoon

While I was sleeping,
Beside a half full moon,

We had a visit
From a rascally raccoon.

He came in the dark
So I could not see.

He came to steal food
Without paying a fee.

I know where he was
From the print on our chair.

And the missing dog food
Was extremely unfair.

I know he must have
A family to feed

But he is not doing
A very good deed.

I wonder where he goes
During the day.

Does he snuggle with his family
While I go out to play?

And while he sleeps
What does he dream?

Does he have visions
Of freshly made ice cream?
